Foundations

Unlike government funding agencies, foundations typically do not use a peer-review process. A foundation will depend on its program officer to review and rank proposals. This program officer may be quite knowledgeable about the program area but in most instances will not be a trained specialist.

These foundations have been specifically chosen as likely funding sources for University of Toronto researchers. If you don’t find the one you are looking for, take a look in our Research Funding Opportunities Database.
