Software Agreements

Form is available upon request.

About This Document

When software is being obtained for general university or departmental use, the software licence should be reviewed and signed by the Information Commons. If a limited or research use licence is being provided to enable a researcher to use a specific piece of software in a research project, then the software licence should be reviewed and signed by Research Services.

The terms of such a licence will depend on the intended use of the software by the university researcher. The university can agree to keep the software confidential when beta or early development software is involved. As with any software licence the university will agree not to reproduce or otherwise distribute the software except as permitted in the licence agreement.

Contact Innovations & Partnerships Office for more information on software agreements.
