Federal funding
A variety of federal agencies fund research at U of T, including the Canada Research Chairs program, the Canadian Institutes for Health Research, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, the Canada Foundation for Innovation and Genome Canada. U of T leads Canadian universities in investment from all of these agencies.
Federal funding at work
Monica Boyd of Sociology is the Canada Research Chair in Immigration, Inequality and Public Policy. Funding from the CRC program supports her work analyzing the challenges immigrants face in Canadian society.
