Description

In 1990, IBM created the first Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS) in IBM Toronto Laboratory in Canada. Since then, it has evolved to become CAS Research in 2009. CAS Research’s mission is to become a world-class applied research centre that facilitates the transfer of advanced research into strategic products and births new product offerings. Through collaborations with researchers from academic institutions, IBM researchers and technologists, we produce fruitful research outcome, expressed in terms of impactful publications and patent filings. Headed by Joanna Ng, CAS Research focuses on a research agenda that is current, relevant and strategic to both IBM Software Group and to our academic partners. Its research program portfolio includes the following:
