Fellowships, Studentships and Research Project Grants

Description

The Ontario Mental Health Foundation has a number of different research funding opportunities coming up.

Deadlines are:

Research Project Grants: September 11, 2015 at 4pm
Fellowships and Studentships: October 30, 2015 at 4pm

As a note any application which requires U of T central sign-off will need a completed MRA Application approved in advance of these deadlines.

Research Project Grants

Type A: Research Project Grants (2 years)

Applicants may request funds for up to two years. The grant period will be determined by the Foundation and specified in the letters of notification.  Even if the intent is to continue a line of work funded by the Foundation, applications for further support beyond the period of notification will be treated as new applications.

Individuals enrolled in a predoctoral training program are not eligible to apply for a Type A grant.

Type B: Research Project Grants (up to 4 years)

Principal investigators who have been funded by the Foundation for at least four consecutive years in a particular line of research at the time of application, and who can show the need to continue that line of research may apply for support for up to four additional years, through a type B grant.

Fellowships and Studentships

OMHF currently offers the following awards for trainees:

Mid-Career Research Fellowship: 3 years (up to $40,000 per year)
New Investigator Fellowship: 3 years (up to $40,000 per year)
Postdoctoral Fellowship: 2 or 3 years ($35,000 per year)
Research Training Fellowship: 1, 2 or 3 years ($35,000 per year)
Research Studentship: 1, 2 or 3 years ($25,000 per year)
