Economist wins 2009 Polanyi Prize

Professor Gustavo Bobonis of the Department of Economics is one of five winners of the 2009 Polanyi Prize.

The Polanyi Prizes were established by the Ontario government in 1987 to honour the achievements of University Professor John Polanyi, winner of the 1986 Nobel Prize in chemistry. The five annual prizes are given annually to outstanding young Ontario university researchers who are in early stages of careers in chemistry, physiology/medicine, literature, physics and economics. The have a value of $20,000 apiece.

    Dr. Polanyi, have you checked if the “Hamilton Model” that was posted on your outside bulletin board was correct? Dr. Polanyi, have you had a chance to evaluate and observe the chemcical reactions of theoretically synthesizing Noble gas reactions? Have you heard of the “Venn Diagram Mathematical Model Theory of Investing”? Have you had a chance to read the “Nobel Lectures at the University of Toronto?”
